Currently Listening
Mozart: Symphonies Nos. 35, 40, 41
see related
I think I'm done with blogging.

Here's one last realization which everyone should look into though. I'm firmly convinced that Mozart's Mass in D Minor is the greatest piece of art possible.

I've the Sir Neville Marriner recording released by Phillips--and it's speechlessly sublime--, but I've heard that Georg Solti's is just as good if not better. (In all, however, there are a million of them.) If you don't own them, buy them. If you don't know them, discover yourself by listening to them--alone and in the dark with no interruptions, all the way through.

I think that might be some of the best advice I've ever given. Really.

So, in farewell:

Go Ron Paul.

And, to the rest--Read. Act. Be.

Some of you have been quite faithful over the (years?!), so--of course, many thanks.

It's possible that I may occasionally return here for the focused dissemination of some crack-pot pipe-dream of an idea I get some late night while crying and listening to some Beethoven sonatas. So--stand warned.

[--out.]

Adieu mon ami.

I'm close to this myself, but I think I will keep posting the occasional article on my blogger site, focusing on law, tax, and how a Christian could view these things.

Keep in touch.

I've also been close to the decision you're possibly making, but at the end of the day, it serves as an interesting journal if nothing else.

Okay, I love Mozart's Masses, all of them. But before you make that judgment, borrow Bach's Mass in B-minor from me as well as his Mass in F. In fact, the next time I see you, you should ask me for them and I will give them to you. They are life-changing. Especially the Gloria from the Mass in F. I still owe you some CDs by Palestrina and Byrd. I will make them to-night.

I still want to work out to-morrow, but I won't be at the office. Nonetheless, we can still do it so just stay in touch.

I am sad that you wont be blogging anymore. The best part about reading blogs, for me, is keeping in touch with my friends. Your blog usually gave me something to muse on, which was an added bonus. If you really do give up blogging, please keep in touch some other way.

I've been considering doing just this for a while now.

Anyway, you'll be missed. Take it easy. Keep the faith.

Farewell old boy, I was of the class that could only keep up with your blogs by keeping a dictionary in one hand, and the keyboard in the other, but your blogs were always thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating, and Valarie was always rather fond of your writing, so, you know, have a good un'.

Well, too bad you're quitting.   Not too many people have your vocabulary, so you'll be depriving some xangas of their daily "wordpower" so to speak.   As for Sir M., isn't he the Academy of St. Marytn in the Field fellow?   I seem to connect the names in my brain.   And if you're going to listen to Amadeus, stay away from the powdered coifs, it's better to go natural this time of year.   Have a great summer--I'll probably take a blog hiatus myself, our 4th bambino is due in 3 weeks.
